Publisher ID - I Saw It In Person & It Was Terrifying!
by thedepressedsoul ini'd like to start off this post by saying, we all know that the wt loves control.
it's clear by their history, their wt's, the elder arrangement and so on.
however, after witnessing and using the publish id program in person, it takes this need for control to a whole new level & it was scary.. if you've ever seen builder assist (the website program used for ldc volunteers) or the metro program, it actually looks pretty similar to that.

1975 and 1981?
by Steel inis it true that in 1975 the watchtower falsely predicted the end of the world and a great number of the membership quit and just a few years later they turned disassociation into disfellowshipping?

Sorry to be so short but I was on my tablet, which I'm not real comfortable with.
My essay, "Watchtower’s 49 Date Failures Mostly Ditched Without Fanfare", lists 1975 as a date failure and supports that with some 6 WT quotations. Finally, the 1980 quotation (re 1975) is where they concede that they went too far in their implications.
I probably exaggerated it with my expression of "thousands" -- it was more like hundreds -- which is incriminating enough.
I was baptized in 1956 and I lived through it all, leaving in 1977 somewhat because of their implications -- not only in the publications, but from the platform and at the hall.
Those of us in the fold as apostates get enough bad press without fueling the fire with incorrect charges. There are plenty of stupid WT statements without the need to resort to false ones.

Fact is they admitted the implication some five or six years after

Blondie: " . . . taking a blood transfusion would no longer be a df'ing offense but an act of disassociating themselves from the WTS."
While attending a two-week elder's school some 43 years ago, the instructor told us that joining the military was not a DF offense, but "and act of disassociating themselves".
I asked him what the difference was. He winked and smiled and said that there would be no difference as to the practice of required shunning. It was simply a legal statement to avoid U.S. from shutting down Watchtower on an act of sedition (Speech or conduct that incites people to rebel against a lawful authority). That to the rank and file JW, DF and DA will be considered identical.
I asked him, wouldn't this be like putting out tails between our legs and compromising our integrity?
He told us that announcing a DF, the onus of responsibility lays the act on Watchtower. With DA, the onus is placed on the offender.
Therefore, in those years, Joining the military or accepting blood, the term disassociation would be used.

by Juan Viejo2 infor nearly two years i have not seen any jehovah's witnesses going door to door in my neighborhood.
that was not the case when my wife and i first moved here (north central oregon).

Haiwan it's good to have you back again
What you said about that woman nudging the man even tugging at his coat sleeve brings up a question. Where did she get that knowledge if they are no longer supposed to keep records? how did she know that your house is off limits?

Who really is the faithful and discreet* slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
by Alex Williams inthis statement was answered in a form of a question to a question posed by one of his followers;.
jesus realized that composite slave had to qualify for such an appointment when he came into power of his kingdom promised by jehovah god.
[and they came to life and ruled as kings with the christ+ for 1,000 years].

Alex,
I realize I'm probably wasting my time and effort with you but perhaps a few lurkers will benefit.
Russell had a problem, which the modern day GB inherited, and instead of abandoning the problem they simply nurtured it and that problem grew and grew and grew.
The first one was 1914. He made a lot of predictions about that date. Whether you wish to try to hash over whether he was speculating or predicting them, I'll simply quote from him instead of allowing you to bend what he actually said. This first article is about what he predicted would happen about that date. And, if you pay attention to the 24 predictions he made about 1914, not a single one of them was about the greatest event that occurred in 1914 -- World War I, then to be known as The Great War. Introductory image follows with link here.
Yes, the succeeding GBs following with more failed dates. Intro image below, link Here.
Finally, let me introduce what I believe to be the greatest contradiction in the history of published writings -- period. It so happens that the blue ribbon honor for that belongs to -- wanna take a guess? No? Well, let me put you out of your misery. It's the Watchtower, JW.ORG, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc. Intro image below, link here.

Sorry about the double post. The long delay moved me to cancel the first one and try another. The first one obviously stuck.
Simon's forum may be having problem with captured image size. I have a 4k monitor and I probably need to limit the size of the capture.
